Irina Alexieva / Executive Director
Irina Alexieva is well known to Bulgarian public as one of the best business journalists in the country, author and host of the weekly economic broadcast of BTV “Business". Previously, Irina managed the Economic Department of Darik Radio and was the author of the "Portfolio" radio broadcast.
She has a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the American University in Bulgaria and a MA in Economics from the University of National and World Economy. Irina specialized in journalism in the U.S. and studied the development of civic and political dialogue in Southeast Europe and the former Soviet Union in Norway.
During her intensive career as a journalst, Irina interviewed some of the most influential leaders in the global political and economic scene, among them Nobel laureates, heads of global companies and financial institutions. She is the author of several documentaries, including "Chernobyl -20 years later”, dedicated to the anniversary of the largest nuclear reactor accident in the world and “California’s Choice" – on the energy efficiency policy of California.

Daniela Simeonova / Program Director
Daniela Simeonova is an expert in Public Relations, with a specialization in governmental PR. Since 1997 she has worked with all Bulgarian governments. She was a deputy Head of the Governmental Press Office, PR Advisor to two vice Prime Ministers, Director of the Public Relations Departments at the Ministries of Economy, of Defense and of Finance.
Daniela worked as a Program Director at the Bulgarian Economic Forum. More than 10 years, she was a journalist and an editor in several newspapers, among which “168 Hours”, “Fax” and “Narodna Mladezh”. She has a Master’s degree in Journalism from the Sofia University “Sv. Kliment Ohridski” and was also trained as a governmental speaker in the USA, in Public Relations in the Netherlands, and in European policy in the fields of security and defence. Daniela is a member of the Union of Bulgarian Journalists and is an external expert at the Public Procurement Agency.

Mariana Petrova / Program Coordinator
Mariana Petrova graduated in Political Sciences at the Sofia University “Sv. Kliment Ohridski”, with additional qualification in Journalism. She has vast experience as a consultant and a trainer in the fields of strategic planning, capacity building, and project preparation, implementation and management. She has worked for projects and programs financed through the European Union, Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), USAID and private donors. She has also chaired meetings for strategic planning and preparation of local plans for sector development with active involvement of local stakeholders.
She has a Certificate in Training Practice from the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), UK and is a licensed trainer in group-dynamic training method for adults and in organizational behavior. She has been a CIPD Associated Member since 2009.

Martina Kostova / Program Coordinator
Martina Kostova has a Batchelor’s degree in Public Relations from the Sofia University “Sv. Kliment Ohridski” and a Master’s degree in Marketing from the University of National and World Economy, with a focus on political marketing. She finished the National Trade and Banking High School - Sofia, with subjects “Stock Exchange” and “Accounting”. For six years Martina had worked as a journalist at bTV. She was a reporter responsible for environmental issues, health care and education, and was also editor of morning news emissions and assistant producer of central news emissions. She had worked for three years as the executive producer of Seismograph broadcast. For a short period Martina was an editor of a political talk show “Direct Democracy” broadcasted on TV 7.

Alexander Ilchev / Program Coordinator, Environmental projects
Alexander Ilchev has a Batchelor’s degree in Environmental and Resource Management from the Brandenburg Technical University of Cottbus, Germany and a Master’s degree in Sustainable Resource Management from the Technical University in Munich. His professional interests are in the field of sustainable development, energy efficiency and climate change. He speaks English and German.

Rumiana Grozeva / Accountant
Rumiana Grozeva has Master’s degrees in Finance, Philosophy and History from the Sofia University “Sv. Kliment Ohridski” and the University of National and World Economy. Between 1992 and 1999 she worked at the Company clients and credits Department of the Biohim Bank. From 2000 to 2002 Rumiana was an accountant at the Political Academy of Central and South-East Europe. Since 2003 she has been an accountant at the Bulgarian School of Policy.

Velizar Georgiev / Office Manager
Velizar Georgiev finished high school with intensive learning of French and English in 2007. The same year he enrolled International Economic Relations at the International Business School in Botevgrad. Velizar has lots of sports activities and participated in numerous volleyball competitions at national level. He has also taken part in many cultural events in Germany, Turkey, Italy and Austria. He likes traveling and meeting different cultures.
