Prof. Hervé Le Treut
Senior researcher at the Centre national de recherche scientifique (National centre for scientific research) and director of the Laboratory of dynamical meteorology  

Prof. Hervé le Treut is a prominent French expert on climate change issues, acting for almost 40 years as a first rank-researcher and adviser for politicians. His numerous findings brought major improvements in the understanding of the climate, and the influence of humans activities on it.
Prof. Hervé le Treut works as a senior researcher for the Centre national de recherche scientifique (National centre for scientific research), is a member of the National academy of sciences, manages the laboratory of dynamic meteorology and the Pierre-Simon Laplace Institute, which assists the International climate expert group. He also takes part as guest teacher in trainings organized by prestigious French schools such as the Ecole Polytechnique and Science Po Paris.

Mr. Luben Petrov
Deputy Minister of Economy of Bulgaria

Mr. Luben Petrov took the head of the Ministry of Economy alongside with Minister Bojidar Loukarski in 2014, after years of political involvement which made him until 2011 Mayor of the Vitosha district of Sofia. From 2007 to 2011, he worked as a chairperson of the Regional development council of south west planning and a member of the monitoring committee of the operational programme “Development and competitiveness of the Bulgarian economy”.

Mr. de Lafarge joined Schneider Electric in 1998 and became country president for Bulgaria, Albania, Macedonia and Kosovo in 2012. He qualified in engineering and holds a Master degree in marketing from the prestigious French business school ESSEC. Over the years, he has been working successively as a commercial policy, channel and pricing manager for various geographical areas such as Asia, western and Eastern Europe. Mr. de Lafarge's background and professional experience provided him with an extensive knowledge of international development strategies, of national policies and regulations' impacts on energy markets and economic activities. In 2014, the group invested moreover more than 1200 million Euros in research and development for new and sustainable energy solutions.

Mr. Hristo Hristov
Executive director of the Energy Institute

Mr. Hristo Hristov manages and participates in various projects in the fields of energy planning, harmonization of the energy and environmental legislation of Bulgaria with the one of the EU. Over the years, he has been involved in many initiatives among which the National study on climate change (1993-1998), five national reports and two national action plans on climate change, inventories of greenhouse gas emissions for the period 1988-2007, measures to reduce greenhouse gases and estimates of greenhouse gas emissions. He currently conducts environmental assessments of energy projects and in particular of the National energy strategy.
